Priya Rani, a resident of Kurkuri village of Phulwari Sharif, brought laurels to Bihar by securing 69th rank in the UPSC examination. Priya, who lives in the village, had faced opposition to her studies earlier, but with the support and hard work of her grandfather, she has become an IAS officer today. Priya Rani says that about 20 years ago her grandfather sent her to Patna for studies. At that time, there was opposition to the girl’s education in the village, but her grandfather and father did not agree. Priya completed her studies by staying in a rented house in Patna.
Priya Rani started preparing for UPSC after doing electrical engineering from BIT Mesra. She got Indian Defense Service in the second attempt of UPSC, but the dream of becoming an IAS was not leaving her. Even after failing in the third attempt, she did not give up and achieved success in the fourth attempt.
Girls are no less than anyone
Priya Rani says that she used to wake up at 4 am every day to study. Regular study and hard work is the secret of her success. She prepared by making economics her main subject along with NCERT books and newspapers. Priya Rani says that education is the biggest asset of life. She told the youth to stay dedicated to their goal and work hard. Priya Rani’s story is a source of inspiration for the whole of Bihar. Priya Rani says that girls are no less than anyone. They should move forward to fulfill their dreams. It is very important to educate and advance girls in the society.
